British Airways to provide free high-speed in-flight wifi via satellite partnership
Flyers aboard this carrier are set to use high-speed internet in the air without charge following a recent partnership involving SpaceX's space provider.
Free plus High-speed Connectivity Across the Board
British Airways announced that the no-cost, “fast and dependable” wifi provision via Starlink becomes accessible to travelers flying coach, premium economy, or premium cabins starting soon.
Broad Implementation Throughout Several Flight Operators
The umbrella organization of British Airways, the airline group, stated it had secured an deal involving SpaceX to offer internet access for more than 500 aircraft operated by the group's airlines, including the Irish airline, the Spanish carrier, plus Vueling.
Uninterrupted Wifi starting at Boarding through Landing
The airline noted that this rollout for the technology was part of a £7bn “transformation” program that will provide uninterrupted connectivity coverage to passengers starting at the gate to landing, also when traveling over oceans and remote regions.
Passengers may connect several devices while do not have to use a special password.

Basic wifi access is presently offered to British Airways flyers on most of their jets through their .air system.
Members of BA’s loyalty club may send messages and text-only correspondence in the air free of charge, whereas passengers wishing to stream audio, films, and content throughout their travel and are not flying in premium cabins may be charged between £4.99 and twenty-one pounds ninety-nine for one internet bundle.

British Airways’ announcement follows shortly after mobile phone carrier Virgin Media O2 announced it was partnering alongside Starlink to improve mobile network coverage in the countryside across the United Kingdom, by allowing customers to automatically link phones through satellites if there is no regular network coverage can be found.
